Cookie Policy
What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to manage your preferences.
Last updated: 25 March 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember preferences, and collect information about how pages are used. FairFetch uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on fairfetch.co.ukin accordance with the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
2. Cookies we use
Essential cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. They cannot be switched off. No personal data is shared with third parties as a result of these cookies.

|---|---|---|
| __Host-next-auth.csrf-token | Prevents cross-site request forgery on the dashboard login form. | Session |

| fairfetch_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference so we don't ask again. | 1 year |
Analytics cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with FairFetch — which search terms are used, which pages are viewed, and where users drop off. This data is aggregated and anonymised; it is never used to identify you personally.

|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users for traffic analysis. | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for GA4. | 2 years |
Third-party functional cookies
Some features of FairFetch rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies.
| Service | Purpose | More info |
|---|---|---|
| Google Places API | Powers location autocomplete in the search bar. Queries are sent server-side; no cookies are set on your device by Google as a result of this feature. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Stripe | Processes subscription payments for registered vet practices on the dashboard. Stripe may set cookies for fraud detection during checkout. | stripe.com/privacy |
3. Your consent
When you first visit fairfetch.co.uk, a cookie banner will ask for your consent to set non-essential cookies (analytics and functional). Essential cookies are set automatically as they are strictly necessary for the site to operate. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings — see Section 4 below — or by emailing us at hello@fairfetch.co.uk.
4. How to manage or disable cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. The links below take you to instructions for the most common browsers:
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of FairFetch — in particular, the practice dashboard requires session cookies to maintain your login.
5. Google Analytics opt-out
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information about your visit activity.
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable regulation. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged in the cookie consent banner on your next visit.
7. Contact
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact us at hello@fairfetch.co.uk. For broader data protection queries, please read our Privacy Policy.
